In its most bold move yet, the un General assembly approved today UNESCO’s Request to grant the “world\u200b heritage\u200b site” to a website. \u200b From this day on\u200b www.powtoon.com<\/a> shall be eternally preserved for the good of all mankind.<\/p>\n

The\u200b initiative\u200b came from the tiny nation\u200b island\u200b of Mambu-Atu which has the\u200b highest\u200b number of Powtoon users per capita. \u200b “I am an avid Powtoonist and wanted to make sure that all the Powtoons I (and my citizens) had created stay forever available for all to enjoy” said the Mambu-Atu\u200b president via email.<\/p>\n

After Unesco decided to recognize online presence as a form of real-estate,\u200b Powtoon<\/a>\u200b was able to easily met the\u200b selection\u200b criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. to represent a masterpiece of human creative genius;<\/li>\n
  2. to exhibit an important interchange of human values;<\/li>\n
  3. to bear a unique or at least exceptional testimony to a cultural tradition or to a civilization;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Unesco vote was unanimous – a rare\u200b occurrence. \u200b The Iranian president seemed\u200b particularly\u200b thrilled with the outcome.<\/p>\n
