The Sullivan University librarians have created this video to help you with using Blackboard.
BTW: Blackboard works best with the Google Chrome browser.
This is the Blackboard Navigation panel.
Select this to view & edit information about yourself.
Select this to view the "Activity Stream." (More on this later.)
Select this to view & interact with your courses.
Select this to view and send messages to your course instructor and classmates.
Select this to view your current and past grades.
This is for joining or creating study groups and such.
Select this to view & schedule your assignments, etc.
Select this to safely log out of Blackboard.
This is your "toolbox." It may look something like this:
So, what's an "activity stream"?
"An activity stream is a list of recent activities performed by an individual, typically on a single website." (Wikipedia)
Facebook's News Feed is an example of an activity stream you're probably familiar with.
Blackboard's up-to-the-minute activity stream lets you jump directly into course actions. You don't need to dig through the system, search for deadlines, or miss assignments and tests.

The activity stream will enable you to:
Receive reminders,
Check your grades
Prioritize your tasks
Find your course content here
Your courses are listed here
Click on the course you want to view
Your course contents are listed here. Click on the link to view
A. Open the page you want to print (such as the syllabus).
B. Position the mouse/cursor where you want to begin copying.
C. Click and hold the button down, then scroll the mouse over all the text you want to highlight.
D. Release the button and right-click anywhere in the highlighted area; select "Copy."
E. Open Microsoft Word, and paste the text into a new document, then print like you usually do.
