About the movie:
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is a 2d-animated film  released on September 23, 2001Produced by famous anime studio : Studio MadhouseBased on the Vampire Hunter D novel series and a sequel to Vampire Hunter D(1985)
How do these sorts of films get made?
There are a bunch of roles that people take on to produce a 2d film.

What's the PIPELINE like?
Responsibilities of each role:
Director -  
Responsible for production management and supervision
Responsible for quality control of  the overall project, i.e.; animation, voice-over performances, previz materials (storyboard, animatic and layout)
In charge of overall creative vision and creative direction of project

Producer - 
Responsible for production management and timely deliverance of project materials
Often responsible for securing financial backing for project and proposing budgets
Can be responsible for exploring methods of bringing in additional revenue, e.g.; merchandising opportunities, brand collaborations etc.

Writer - 
Responsible for developing story ideas for the plot of a project
Responsible for creating overarching plot points and developing a cohesive narrative.

Storyboard Artist - 
Responsible for translating the writer’s script into a visual medium
Responsible for planning the shots and composition of the animation

Animatic Editor- 
 Translates the storyboard into video format
Responsible for inserting dialogue, camera movement and audio cues in the animatic

Character Designer - 
Responsible for creating the “look” of a character
Responsible for creating designs consistent with the overall vision of the project
Responsible for creating model sheets and turnaround sheets for the character.

Background Artist -
Responsible for creating detailed backgrounds for scenes based on the work of the storyboard artist
Responsible for creating designs consistent with the overall vision of the project
Responsible for creating environmental scenes showcasing different moods and lighting

Layout Artist -  
 Responsible for capturing the look and feel of an environment in an animated setting through perspective drawings of the background.
