The Modern Languages Department at UTA offers testing for students with prior language experience.

Wow! It's cool that you're all bilingual!
How did you all learn your other language?
I studied Russian in high school and hope to study more while I'm at UTA!
I went to Korea for a study abroad program and really picked it up!
I'm going to major in business, but I also want to certify my Korean skills for my résumé.
I've known Spanish since childhood; my parents raised me as a bilingual.
I'm hoping to get a minor in Spanish at UTA!

Since you have experience with languages other than English...
You should look into testing your language skills to receive course credit at UTA!
What do you mean?
Depending on your score, you can test out of up to four lower-level language courses.
That's 14 credits on your transcript!
 You can also place into the next course that fits you best
 if you want to continue your language studies at UTA!
Wow! So what languages are these tests offered in?
These tests are available for all languages offered at UTA!
American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Korean, Russian, and Spanish!
Wonderful! How do I sign up to take the test?
It's simple! Go to the MODL website and fill out an interest form!
Don't wait until your graduation semester. The earlier you take the test, the better!
Alright, I'll get started right away!

Oh wait! There are two different test options: Avant PLACE and Avant STAMP!
How do I know which one to take?
