WHAT IS WEB APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE?
The high-level foundation of web application architecture influences how your product and company run, scale, and operate. Web apps, which are client-server programmes, use a web browser as their client. It appears to be a stage in the creation of a website and is similar in many ways. The characteristics that distinguish a website from a web application include interactivity, integration, and authentication.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
With any typical web application, there are two different codes (sub-programs) running side-by-side. These are:

-Client-side Code - The code that is in the browser and responds to some user input.

-Server-side Code - The code that is on the server and responds to the HTTP requests.
A web developer (team) developing the web application decides as to what the code on the server will do with respect to the code in the browser. For writing server-side code, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, Ruby, etc. are used.

WHAT IS A 3-TIER ARCHITECTURE?
In a standard 2-Tier architecture, there are two components: the user interface and a database server. Here, the user interface or database server contains the business logic. 2-tier architecture's performance degrades with more users. Direct database-user device interaction presents security considerations. Reservation systems and content management systems use this approach.

3-Tier architecture has 3 layers:
PRESENTATION LAYER / CLIENT LAYER
2. APPLICATION LAYER / BUSINESS LAYER
3. DATA LAYER

Intermediate servers coordinate with subordinate servers to implement client business logic. The intermediate application layer manages client-to-database communication to access several DBMS implementations.
Clients don't directly access data in 3-tier architecture. Multiple application servers improve performance, scalability, and reuse. Scale each item horizontally. Isolate the business and database server to balance load. The application server controls access to all data. Changing management is simple and cheap. Thin-clients reduce hardware costs. This modular model's tiers are independent.
