Digital citizenship means being a safe, responsible, and respectful person when using the internet, social media, and other digital tools.

Let's Focus On Two
Of These Issues...
Information literacy means being able to find good information from sources, tell if it’s trustworthy, and then using it the right way for school or life.

What is Information
Literacy?
Check for bias by asking yourself if the source is trying to push an opinion or agenda on you.

Use school approved sources such as databases and library resources, as well as websites with information that is peer reviewed and offers citations.

Check the source to make sure that the information comes from a reliable website, author, or organization.
Tips For Information
Literacy:
Copyright is a law that protects a person's original work so that another person can’t use it without permission.

Creative credit means that you give proper credit or recognition to the person who made something such as art, music writing or a video.

What is Creative Credit
and Copyright?
Second, ask permission before using any information.

First, check through the source that you are viewing to see who made it.

Tips For Creative Credit
and Copyright:
Third, give credit to the source by creating a correctly formatted citation. This includes: the author's name, the date, and the page number.
