What is Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Acts 342)?
Amend and unify laws related to the prevention and control of infectious diseases
Provide for other matters related to the prevention and control of infectious diseases
COVID-19 (2020-2021)
As for year 2020-2021, coronavirus sparks and the Malaysian government decided to  implement the Movement Control Order (MCO)
The control order was made in accordance with Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and the Police Act 1967
"Necessary Services"
Any necessary services can be opened with minimum staff & visitors
Any unnecessary services can be opened by having written KP permission & abiding regulations
Movement Control & Assembly
No one can moves from one place to the infectious place
Individuals cannot be in a crowded places or be involved in events that cause infections
One can moves if they have written permission by the police officer
Faults
Any corporate organizations who found guilty:
May be charged separately or jointly in the same proceedings
Shall be deemed guilty unless he proves that the offense was committed without knowledge and has taken reasonable precautions to prevent the offence
Example of the Act Case 
Motor sports organizers were fined RM20,000 for failing to comply with SOP
The organizer had obtained a permit to conduct the event but were compounded for failing to perform the event in the new norm setting
Resulting the event to end as the police involved at the event
What can be improved to protect the industry players?
Organizations need to look closely not just at the requirements for compliance but for the penalties for non-compliance when they come into force
Organizations should apply strong corporate responsibility to avoid any unexpected circumstances
To protect industry players with their event businesses:
Government has to provide alternatives  for engagements to ensure the interests being represented when there is rare occurences
Setting up a Terms of Service agreement between the organizer and other event participants to state everyone's individual responsibility
"The event industry does not have a perfect health and safety record but more law and higher penalties is not necessarily the answer."
