You are probably wondering....
Why do I have to complete a Personal Project?
What is the Personal Project?
The IB MYP Personal Project is...
an opportunity to engage in exploration through inquiry, action, and reflection.
your way to show your learning in IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
an independent study of a topic that is interesting, challenging, and relevant to you.
Basically.....
You get to learn about something that interest you!
You get to choose your own topic for your project!
Did you know you are an IB student?
Did you know the IB MYP starts in the 6th grade and ends in the 10th grade?
Yes, You Are IB!
MYP students are all students in the 6th-10th grade!
So since you are an IB student , the Personal Project is the perfect opportunity to show your
Learner Profile
ATL skills
International-mindedness
Independent Inquiry
Overall, the personal project is an opportunity for you to:
INQUIRE
ACT
REFLECT
Explore an interest that is meaningful
Take ownership of your learning by undertaking self-directed inquiry
Transfer and apply skills to learn a new goal and create a product
Recognize and show personal growth and development

Components of the Personal Project
The Learning Goal and Product are Interrelated.
So you can start with the learning goal (what you will learn) and then determine your product (what you will create) or vice versa.
Components of the Personal Project
I want to create a game app so my learning goal is learning about app development.
My learning goal is exploring my abilities in art so my product is composing an painting using recyclable material.
For Example:

 is a detailed plan outlining the actions or steps needed to meet your learning goal and create your product. 
 are the selected skills you used to complete your learning goal and create your product.

The MYP Personal Project rubric has 3 sections:
Planning
Applying Skills
Reflecting
Successful completion of the Personal Project (score 5-7) is one of the REQUIREMENTS of 
IB Diploma Programme (DP)
IB Career-related Programme (CP)
How does the Personal Project connect to IB DP and IB CP?

How do I

Can I create my final project in another language?
YES! You can create your final report in English, French, and Spanish.
If you choose French or Spanish, you must receive approval from Dr. Showers before you submit your proposal.
What about the format of the final report?
Your final project must be:

Written (essay)
Or
Multimedia
(written & recorded)

When is the final product and report due?
NOW;
Complete the Google Form, Review the Personal Project Guide, and review the sample report.

Your advisor will provide steps during each advisement.
Work on your Personal Project weekly!
