Why are they Important?
Types of sentences
There are 4 types of sentences (Imperative, Declarative, Interrogative and Exclamatory), and they allow us to express ourselves crealy and freely.
Declarative Sentences

Sentences
These are the most basic types of sentences, with its function being to relay information. They are punctuated with a period.
Declarative sentences make statements, whether they are facts or opinions.
Examples:
My dog is sleeping.My mom went shopping.We are going to play.
They can also be compound sentences.
He wants to travel, but he doesn't know where to go.
Complex sentences can also be Declarative
While cats are more independent, dogs love being around people.
Interrogative Sentences

Interrogative sentences ask questions (or interrogate). These questions are direct questions, and they are punctuated with a question mark.
Many interrogative sentences start with question words like "how" or "why", but others are yes/no questions that begin with the verb instead of the noun.
Examples:
Whose dog is that?Why does rain fall from  the sky?Will Sherri get to keep all her winnings?
Compound sentences can also be interrogative:
Who are you and why are you here?
Complex interrogative sentences:
Can you call me when it's time to go?
Exclamatory Sentences
What are they?
Exclamatory sentences express strong emotions. They provide information and end in an exclamation point.
Exclamatory sentences are often used in casual conversation and in written dialogue to show emotion.
Examples:
I said I wanted tacos!How well he sings!Wow, he just won a gold medal!
Exclamatory sentences with compound sentences:
We knew you wanted to visit Paris, so we bought you a ticket!
Complex exclamatory sentences:
We can start the party once he arrives!
Imperative Sentences
Imperative sentences tell someone to do something. These can be in form of friendly advice, basic instructions or more forceful commands.
They appear to be missing a subject. However, the command of each imperative is directed at you, making these sentences second-person.
Examples:
Please shut the door.Turn right at the bridge.Stop bothering me!
Compound imperative sentences:
Put your phone away and listen to me!
Complex imperative sentences:
Don't interrupt me when I'm talking!
