Each type of verb has its own function and role in a sentence or context.

Verbs are one of the most important parts of English language.
VERBS
They are used to describe actions, states, and occurrences, and can be conjugated to express different tenses.
In this topic, we will learn about  The Four types of Verbs:
Action Verbs
Stative Verbs
Transitive Verbs
Intransitive Verbs
Let us look into the definitions and examples of each type of verb.
Action Verbs
Action Verbs are verbs that describe the action that the subject of a sentence is performing. Action Verbs can refer to both physical and mental actions.

Alex danced all night at the party.
This sentence uses an action verb danced to describe the physical action that the subject (she) performed.
John studied hard for the exam.
This sentence uses an action verb studied to describe the mental action that the subject (he) performed.
Stative Verbs
Stative Verbs are verbs that describe a state of being or perception. It is typically used to provide more information about the subject, rather than express an action that the subject did.

They own a house in the suburbs.
This sentence uses a stative verb own to describe the state of possession that the subject (they) has.
She feels happy today.
This sentence uses a stative verb feels to describe the state of emotion that the subject (she) has.
Transitive Verbs
Transitive Verbs are verbs that require a direct object, such as a noun or pronoun, that receives the action. Without a direct object, sentences with a transitive verb are vague.

He bought a new car yesterday.
This sentence uses a transitive verb bought that requires a direct object (a new car) that receives the action.
Kylie loves her dog very much.
This sentence uses a transitive verb loves that requires a direct object (her dog) that receives the action.
Intransitive Verbs
Intransitive Verbs are verbs that do not require a direct object that receives the action. However, other information may come after the verb, such as an adverb.

The sun rose early this morning.
This sentence uses an intransitive verb rose that does not require a direct object that receives thes action.
He sneezed loudly during the meeting.
This sentence uses an intransitive verb sneezed that does not require a direct object that receives the action.
REMEMBER
Action verbs -show what the subject does or did.
Stative verbs -show the state or condition of the subject.
Transitive verbs -need a direct object to complete their meaning.
Intransitive verbs don't need a direct object to complete their meaning.
