The Kaqchikeles are an ethnic group native to the south of Chiapas, Mexico and the highlands of western Guatemala. The Kachile is the language from this Mayan family.

Like many other languages (dialects), this dialect is in danger of extinction. Currently, there are approximately 100 speakers of this language.
The problem?
Why is this Happening?
Globalization
Need for effective ways to communicate internationally
Racism and discrimination
Homogenization
Entire parts of history would be forgotten! Diminishing the experiences, viewpoints, traditions and culture of groups of millions of people that have lived before us and still live and are proud of their culture today.

Why is it bad?
Posible Solutions?
Prevent negative actions that might quicken the extinction of the language. Languages naturally become obsolete, but this shouldn't happen by actions like racism, classism, violence, etc. 
Solution 1
Consciousness and Policies
Send volunteers or members of cultural preservation organizations, to at least keep a record of the language and its unique usage.
Solution 2
Registry Missions
Finally we would like to encourage anyone watching this video to embrace their culture. Culture is an important part of who we are and our traditions and origins are something we should all be proud of. If you speak Kakchikel or any other language in danger of extinction, don’t feel forced to leave your roots because of xenophobic comments, but rather think about the beauty of your culture and embrace it.
