Cyclodextrins are crystalline, white, water soluble powders.

They are odorless and tasteless.
Their solubility in water depends on the type:

Alpha-cyclodextrin is more soluble than beta-cyclodextrin.

Gamma-cyclodextrin has the highest water solubility.
The inner cavity is hydrophobic ( water repelling), while the outer surface is hydrophilic (water-attracting)
