The Metabolism of Cities Living Lab (MOC-LLab): Strengthening Diversity and Deliberation in Climate Adaptation Planning. Building a community living lab for San Diego and Imperial Counties.
Climate is changing making underrepresented communities of southern California and US-Mex border most vulnerable. Climate vulnerabilities are distributed unevenly across races, ethnicity, classes, ages, incomes, and genders for which they suffer issues of health burdens, exposure to weather events, and uneven resource allocation. With these concerns, SDSU research team aims to create a trans-disciplinary diversified campus-wide partnership called The Metabolism of Cities - Living Lab (MOC-LLab) based on urban metabolism and under representative studies.
