Classifying or reclassifying language material into meangful units, either mentally or in writing, to make the material easier to remember by reducing the number or discrete elements.

Example: Kind of transportasion

Land: Car, bicycle, motorcycle.
Air    : Air plane, helicopter, jet.
Water: Ship, boat, kano.
Grouping

Strategy
Relating new language information to concepts already in memory, or relating one piece of information to another, to create associations in memory. 
Example: You get new vocab: House (rumah) so you will remember Haus (minum), "house in the house".
Placing New Words Into Context 
Placing a words or phrase in a meaningful sentence, conversation, or story in order to remember it. New word that we have been heard to a meaning context, like spoken or written as a way to remember. 
Example: 
We have been heared name of great lakes in America, we word that we have been heard to a meaning context, like spoken or written as a way to remember. 
Semantic Mapping 
Making an arrangement of words into a picture, wich has a key concepts t the center or at the top, and related woards and concepts linked with the key concept means of lines or arrows.
Example:
Remember a new woard by using auditory and visual links. This startegy combine sounds and images so that learners can more easily remember can more easily remember what they hear and read in the new language
Using Keywords 
BORING "membosankan" so we can make a sentence "dia itu orang yang membosankan.
Representing Sounds In 
Memory 
Remembering new language information according to its sound. This strategy helps learners remember what they hear by making auditory rather than visual represantions of sounds. 
Example: 
Dinda uses rhyme to learn the sounds of english words, such as goat, coat, boat, float, moat, dote and he makes up nonsense ryhmes using these words. 
Reviewing in carefully spaced intervals, at first close together and the more widely spaced apart.

Example: Rara is learning a set of vocabulary words in English.

He practices them Immediately, waits 15 minutes before practicing them again, and practices them an hour later, and so on. 
Structured Reviewing
Using Physical Respone or Sentasion 
Physically acting out a new expression (e.g., going on the door), or meaningfully relating a new expression to a physical feeling or sensation (e.g., warmth)

Example:
Faros is told by the teacher, "Grab your book and give it to me".

As Faros carries out these intructions, he finds that physical movement helps engrave the new information in memory.
Using Mechanical Techniques
Using creative but tangiable technuques, especilli involving moving or changing something which is concrete, in order to remember new target language information. 
Example: 
For instance flashcards, with the new word written on one side and the definition on the other side, are both familiar and useful.
Using Imagery 
Relating new language information to concepts in memory by means of meaningful visual imagery, either in mind or in an actual drawing. 
HOUSEWIFE "ibu rumah tangga" and wa should imagine that there is a mother in house and clean the room and keep eyes on to your brother.
