John Dalton, Ernest Rutherford, and Albert Einstein
The history of Atoms
John Dalton, born in 1766 and died 1844 lived in England.
Fun Facts
1. He was colorblind
2. Has a statue of him in Manchester
3. Self taught
4. He never married
John Dalton and his contributations to the atom
Dalton's model of the atom
Theory- All matter is made up of indivisible and indistructible atoms
His experiment- He observed the pressure and properties of gases. From his investigations he concluded that gas must have tiny particles that are in motion.
Ernest Rutherford
Born in 1871 and died in 1937
Rutherford lived in New Zealand and later, in England
There is an element named after him in the periodic table
He had 11 siblings. He was the 4th oldest out of all of them
Two of his brothers drowned in 1866
Fun facts:
Rutherford's contributations to the atom
Rutherford contributed to the atom by discovering the nucleus. He, Hans Geiger, and Ernest Marsden conducted the gold foil experiment to do this.
Gold foil experiment
To do the gold foil experiment Rutherford and his colleagues fired a ray of positively charged alpha particles at a sheet of gold foil. Most of the particles ended up passing straight through the foil but a small amount ended up bouncing back. This led them to the conclusion that there must be a small and dense region that was positvely charged in the middle of the atom.
Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was born in 1879 and died in 1955. He was born in Germany and moved around to different countries before spending the last 20 years of his life in New Jersey.

Einstein's contributations to the atom
In 1905 Albert Einstein was the first person to mathmatically prove the exsistence of the atom by explaining brownian motion.
His formula explained brownian motion by proving that it resulted from the constant bombardment of the particles by the invisible, rapidly moving molecules in the surrounding fluid.
Scientific knowledge has changed a lot over time because of knew technology and ideas that people have. 
How and why scientific knowledge change over time?
When technology advances we can use it to further discoveries in science. The knowledge changes over time because there are still many things that we do not know about things in science. People are curious on how things work and will continue to investigate and push the boundries of science. They will discover many new things along the way just like Dalton, Rutherford, and Einstien have and change the field of science for the better.
