Es un entorno dinámico, con determinadas condiciones  físicas temporales,  que posibilitan y favorecen el aprendizaje.
CaRACTERISTICAS

• Es un ambiente electrónico, no hay material en sentido físico, creado y constituido por tecnologías digitales 
• Está hospedado en la red y se puede acceder a través de sus contenidos a través de un dispositivo con acceso a Internet.

CARACTERISTICAS
• Las aplicaciones o programas informáticos que conforman el soporte para las actividades formativas de docentes y alumnos.

•	Es un espacio social que favorece el encuentro y la interacción de los actores. Suele basarse en el principio de aprendizaje colaborativo, que permite a los estudiantes realizar sus aportes y expresar sus inquietudes en los foros.

OBJETIVOS
Fortalecer las competencias tecnologicas, pedagogicas y comunicativas  de los docentes para facilitar la construccion de ambientes virtuales de aprendizaje utilizando la plataforma educativa .
VENTAJAS 
Fomentar un estilo de aprendizaje mas libre y autonomo.

Utilizan  múltiples medios para presentar información .

Hacen del estudiante un aprendiz  mas activo.
