Keeping It Clean

Let's discuss how you can stay clean and organized in the kitchen.
First, lets discuss what the compartments in a four compartment sink are used for.

Next, we will discuss how to properly use and clean an automatic dishwasher
There are four simple steps to use a dishwasher. Load the racks of the dishwasher. Load the dishwashing detergent. Select a wash cycle and then start the dishwasher.
To clean an automatic dishwasher, follow the following steps:
1. Clean removable parts in hot and soapy water.

2. Use a sink hose to make sure dry & sticky debris is gone.

3.Use a bristle brush if necessary. When done, rinse with hot water and dry the equipment.

Use proper equipment to get rid of bacteria
Hygiene is an important factor when working in the kitchen. Remember to wash your hands, cover cuts, wear latex golves (when serving food) and an apron. You should also cover your hair with a hairnet or a haircap

Heating up food to 165°F for 30 seconds at minimum is used as the standard process for removing bacteria.
When cooking meat, you will need a meat thermometer to check the internal heat of cooked meat.
Now  let's talk about  the proper way to thaw meat.
    There are three ways to thaw meat. Before we get into them, remember that you can never thaw on the countertop, thaw in hot water or leave frozen meat at room temperature for more than two hours.
The first method is in cold water. Use a leak-proof bag, change water every 30 mins. Cook food thawed in cold water immediately. This can only be refrozen after cooking.
    Next is thawing in the fridge. Meat will be cooked within 2-3 days. This can be refrozen without cooking, but quality will worsen.
When thawing in the microwave, Always cook meat immediately. Cook before refreezing.
