What is it?
Digital Citizenship
Digital Citizenship is being able to use technology in a respectful and safe manner
There are 8 areas of Digital Citizenship including
1. Cyberbullying
2. Plagiarism
3. Copyright
4. Fair Use
5. E-Cheating
6. Sexting
7. Creating Equity
8. Differentiation with Technology
For this presentation I'D like to Focus on Plagiarism and cyberbullying
Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying is a form of bullying that occurs digitally to target someone else in the form of a threat, hateful comments, and harassment
3 out of every 4 children have the use of technology in their homes
One out of every 4 teenagers have been targeted by cyberbullying and 2 out of every 3 have witnessed it 
students who are impacted by cyberbullying are often likely to have suicidal thoughts
Cyberbullying awareness is so important because it causes many psychological effects on people's minds especially in younger generations leading to other issues like losing personal interests, affecting their education, and pushing people who they care about away
This is something that happens every day and most parents aren't even aware of the situation.
There are ways to deal with this problem and resources that help create awareness
#1. Report it! The cyberbullying research center cyberbullying.org has an online platform where someone can report cyberbullying incidents
#2. Safe2Tell is a great website for anyone having mental health issues and suicidal thoughts with real time help. their website is, safe2tell.org
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is using another person's work and taking it as your own or using their work without giving credit

Schools make it clear that you cannot plagiarize from the beginning of every semester or there will be severe consequences
 
There are many ways for a student to plagiarize and so many websites like ai that facilitate it
Not only is it not being honest, but it's unethical and defeats the whole purpose of learning
Plagiarism is a problem because it can affect your career and it's unfair to students who did the work.
Universities and schools have different websites to check if a student is plagiarizing.
you may not know that you are plagiarizing, but there's websites that help
#1. turnitin.com offers the technology to submit a paper and check by giving you a percentage similarity index and comparing it to other sites. 
#2. grammarly.com is another popular website where you can also submit your work for free to check for any plagiarism and ai.
All in all, cyberbullying is something that needs to gain more awareness especially by parents and plagiarizing is never ok. There are many resources that can help at any time when you need it!
