BASIC FACTS

Education in Poland is free and compulsory
(till  the age of 18).

More than 80% fo kids in Poland go to state schools.

Schools are mostly 
co-educational.

Polish Ministry of Education was the first ministry of education 
in the world.

Polish educational system is undergoing  major changes nowadays.

Up to the current school year students went to the six-year-long primary school and three-year-long lower secondary school.

Then, they entered three-year-long higher secondary school.

obligation for 6-year-olds to attend 1 year of pre-primary education

and 5-year technical secondary school

The school year starts 
on 1st September 
and finishes 
about 24th June.

There are 2  breaks:  
in summer 
(July - August)
and in winter (February).

Students are also 
free from school 
for Christmas and Easter.

Kids go to school 
from Monday to Friday.

6 - EXCELLENT
5 - VERY GOOD
4 - GOOD
3 - SATISFACTORY
2 - SUFFICIENT
1 - FAIL
The students with 
the average grade higher than 4.75 get a certificate with honors at the end 
of a school year.
