Blended Learning Professional Development for teachers!
As teachers, we are taught to differentiate teaching and incorporate blended learning into our day to day lessons
So why aren't teachers taught the same way in their Professional Developments?
Teachers, 
much like students
are not
one size fits all when it comes to learning.
I am here today to show you how to take the traditional method of Professional Development (one size fits all) and make it a ....
Blended Learning Professional Development!
So you may be thinking...."Why would I waste my time on Blended Learning PD?
Blended Learning Professional Development can provide opportunities not traditionally offered, give teachers more time to receive PD, more time in their classroom and provide more one on one assistance to teachers who need it.
While there are many ways to provide a Blended Learning PD, here are three examples:
Station Rotation
Flipped Classroom
A La Carte
Station Rotation
Teachers are working in three distinct groups. The groups will route through three different groups during a set amount of time.

One of the groups will be computer/online based. Teachers will work on a self-paced, targeted differentiated task.

Another station will be working on group work, reading or a paper based task.

The final group will be a teacher/ staff lead group that is taught using direct instruction by the teacher or staff member.
Flipped Classroom
 The teacher or staff member uploads video PD to a program online and the teachers watch the lessons at home or during their planning.

Teachers take notes and then bring the notes to the PD. The leader discusses the PD with the teachers and maximizes PD direct instruction time.

Teachers who master the PD can move on as the teacher has the next PD already online. The teacher of the PD can focus their attention on the teachers who need more help.

This allows for the PD to be self passed while also guided by the teacher or staff member.
A La Carte
Teachers can take PDs that otherwise schools cannot provide.

The teachers have a PD leader on record for the course but take classes online at their own pace in addition to classes in person at the school.

This is a valuable resources for teachers who wish to take PDs that their school does not offer while being able to add it to their existing school PD schedule.
In review:
Blended Learning Professional Development allows for all types of learners to reach their maximum potential by providing instruction in differentiated format. 
Teachers have more control over their Professional Developments.
Teachers have the opportunity for more one - on - one help and guidance. Instructors have the opportunity to get a better understanding of the needs of their teachers.
