Deductive reasoning is the act of drawing out a conclusion from a situation without the use of any additional information. Usually, the conclusion is already implicit in the premises of the situation and it is up to us to make it explicit. 
What is deductive reasoning?
Topic 1:
We will draw a conclusions from only the information provided by these premises. 
Premise 1:
Eating a protein bar makes me happy
Premise 2: 
I am eating a protein bar.

Conclusion:
I am happy.
Example
Topic 2:
Premise 1: Falling down hills with no helmet will kill you. 
Premise 2: Jack and Jill fell down a hill. Jill wore a helmet.
Correct conclusion: Jack died because he fell down a hill with no helmet.
Common errors
Topic 3:
Error 1
Jack and Jill died.
Not wearing a helmet will kill you.
Error 2
The problem with this conclusion is that although Jack died, we cannot conclude that Jill died.
Although Jill was saved by her helmet, Jack died because he fell down the hill and did not wear a helmet.
Premise 1: Smoking cigarettes is destructive to your health.

Premise 2: You are smoking a cigarette.

Conclusion:
