PROBLEM BASED LEARNING 1
SMC CLINIC MANAGEMENT 
- Sihat Medical Centre (SMC) is clinic that provides healthcare services to patients such as, primary medical, wound care, and minor surgery which is located at Bangi, Selangor. 
- SMC has been in operation for two years where is receives many patients who seek for medical check-ups, vaccination and consultations. 
- However, as the number of patients grows, the clinic confronted many challenge in operation, personnel, payroll, revenue, expenditure, inventory to manage the operation of clinic. 
- All of the challenges become as the constraints for the development of business.

Project scope
- In the case of Sihat Medical Centre (SMC), the goal is to rectify existing inventory management issues and to broaden its functional parameter. 
- In general, the project is conducted to assimilate the current system into an online inventory system that is more effective and efficient.

The first concern faced by SMC is the expired stocks being a dump as a result of there not being an expiry date record in the pharmacy’s inventory system. The aim here is to upgrade to a more efficient system which allows for the input of the restocking date as well as the shelf life of the medications.

SMC does not have a reorder level for its inventory. This project aims to identify the appropriate method that can be used to ensure the restocking of inventory is done in either a timely manner or based on a pre-set inventory level that would require restocking.

- The cost that will incur in developing and implementing a system as well as the cost of staff training.
 - The development and implementation of an online inventory management system will require the aid of an expert which would be costly. 
-Cost of staff training is also required to enable the staffs to skilfully handle the new working components and input procedures of the online inventory management system.

Constraints 
- The duration that would be required for	the transition from a manual inventory management system to an automated one. 
- The timespan in which SMC does not employ either of the inventory management system, would lead to the disposal of more medications from the past which have no shelf life record. This in turn, would cause SMC to incur more financial loss.

- Sihat Medical Centre (SMC) it can help to record the purchase of inventory easier. 
- It is because, with new inventory system, it can facilitate the SMC to identify the quantity purchases of medicines and drugs that enter in the medical centre.

- Besides that, with proper inventory system, it can help SMC to figure out how much inventory need to have on hand. 
- From that, it can prevent product shortages and allow the SMC to keep enough inventory without having too much in the storeroom.

PROJECT USABILITY 
- From using this system, Sihat Medical Centre (SMC), can easily record an expiry dates of medicines and drugs properly so that SMC will be remind by the system and know the updated of the expiry dates for the medicines and drugs

COST BENEFIT
- From using this new system, Sihat Medical Centre (SMC) can sell all the inventory to the customers. For example, Sihat Medical Centre (SMC) can purchase in bulk inventory with long expiry dates so that the company will get the lower prices from the supplier. 
- This new inventory system, it will decrease the excess inventory system that expires and also reduces the loss of the company. 
- In addition, Sihat Medical Centre (SMC) can monitor and updated the expiry date of the inventory in the company

            - This interview is prepared to identify the difference system used by Farmasi Pusat Kesihatan Universiti (PKU). But the most important objective of the interview is to help in boasting the development of the system. 
- We prepared some questions to be asked to the targeted person. The interview is carry out through the face to face interview.

QUESTION TO STAFF
1)	What type of product do you order? 
Staff: All types of medical drugs use for patients(categorize by organ)

2)	Other than medicines, what type of products used in pharmacy? 
Staff: Only medicine used in pharmacy no other equipments or products
 
3)	How will you record each batch of the inventory? 
Staff: By using manual system (handwritten)
 
4)	What is the reorder point? 
Staff: Depends on the medicine (Fast moving and slow moving)

5)	What type of document involve in purchasing? 
Staff: Purchase order and Quotation

6)	How many suppliers do you have? 
Staff: Quite a lot (Different type of medicines have different type of supplier)

7)	How many days it took for the order to reach? 
Staff: Depends on medicines and availability (locals and foreign) : Priority to government hospital before sold to private and online
 
8)	Have you experienced received the wrong items that you had ordered from supplier? 
Staff: Yes sometimes
