According to Dr. Neil Haave, from the University of Alberta, asking introspective questions increases "metacognitive awareness", thereby making the learning process more meaningful.

In each course, I will ask introspective questions to "consider my approach to learning" and to develop "positive learner characteristics" (Haave. 2015).

Use the LEAD Framework to develop my learning philosophy, specify the goals of my doctoral studies, and apply new concepts to my academic, professional, and personal life.
