Pathogen Name: Phytophthora infestans
Type: Oomycete (water mold)
P. infestans thrives in cool, moist conditions and is notorious for causing the Irish Potato Famine in the 1840s

Dark, water-soaked lesions on leaves, often surrounded by a yellow halo.Lesions expand rapidly leading to browning and decay of leaf tissues
