The application is open September 5th through November 27th.
Current 8th graders are welcome to apply.

Applicants may only apply to one academy.

Be sure to read all instructions before completing the application, including the Admissions Handbook.

Begin the application.

Be sure to keep record of:

Login information (email address and password)
Enable both Email AND Text notifications 
You will receive a confirmation email and/or text.

The email will include an Academy Applicant Parent/Guardian Release Form. The applicant’s parent/guardian must print the form, complete the required information and provide it to their child’s school counselor. The application will not be complete until the MCVSD Admissions Office receives the required information from the middle school.

Admissions Criteria/Rubric
7th Grade Scores 
20 Points Total -

Average of grades in English, Math, Science and Social Studies
7th Grade NJSLA Scores
50 Points Total-

25 for English Language Arts and 25 for Math
For applicants without 7th Grade NJSLA Scores:

Admissions Test
50 Points Total-

25 for English Language Arts and 25 for Math
For Academy for Math, Science & Engineering applicants:

MSE Math Admissions Test
25 Points

7th Grade NJSLA English Language Arts scores OR ELA Admissions Test
25 points
Teacher Recommendation 
10 Points

Personal Video Statement
20 Points

APA applicants ONLY - additional 50 points for audition
Total Possible Points = 100

(150 for APA applicants)
MCVSD will compile applicants' scores using the criteria outlined in the rubric.

Applicants that don’t meet the minimum score will receive a non-acceptance notice.

Applicants who meet or exceed the minimum score will move to the random selection process.

The random selection process will determine which of the remaining applicants secure seats in the academy and which will go on a waitlist.
Due to the high volume of applicants, we request that all correspondence is via email.
