Bilingual San José Campestre welcomes all our Language Assistants as part of our school, expecting a dedicated and meaningful work being part of the Natural Science and Social Science subjects in Secondary. All physical and technological resources are provided in order to facilitate intercultural interchange with our students, as well as supporting the several communicative, collaborative activities and project work during the lessons.
MAIN FEATURES
We apply Constructivist Active Pedagogies to provide children with a free, happy and safe education. A comprehensive approach, lived experiences, playful learning and technology define our methodology. Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is the followed methodology in the subjects where Language Assistants will be teaching (Natural Science and Social Science) always in the target language. 
METHODOLOGY
TEAM WORK
Language Assistants will work as a team with the form teacher of each subject assigned, enriching students’ experiences from communication, social and cultural, and cognitive perspectives, since numeral opportunities to provide support on content classes are available, for instance when students work in groups, where the form teacher can focus on the explanation of the content and the language assistant helps students to develop their oral and critical thinking skills through asking for explanations of their work and providing them of vocabulary and grammar support, as well as practicing pronunciation for the oral presentations.
GENERAL MAIN FUNCTIONS
In our school, we expect to have the best version of you, and for that we share the functions' guide to be followed during your stay at school and to have a meaningful experience: 
You must…

•	Be involved in classroom activities supporting the form teacher.

•	Be aligned with the bilingual coordinator and the class teacher instructions.

•	Reinforce oral and communicative skills of students inside and outside the classroom.

•	Interact always in the target language motivating and creating interest in your home culture through class activities.

•	Collaborate in preparing and writing teaching materials for class activities.

•	Participate in language training for teachers.

•	Carry out activities in the classroom to work with communicative skills with the pupils, such as questioning warm-up, storytelling, activities to stimulate reading for the Plan Lector, arts and crafts, new technologies, talk about and share knowledge about typical festivities of your home country.
•	Attend to regular meetings with the subject teacher and/or the bilingual coordinator to provide opportunities to state and agree class objectives, aid preparation and to prevent misunderstandings when dealing with young people from another language and culture.

•	Language assistants’ interaction with the students is evaluated and ideas for improvement are discussed.

•	Language assistants’ level of satisfaction with the work can be carried out in conjunction with the content/language teacher they were assigned to, and the bilingual coordinator.

Patience, clarity, and adaptability are essential in your role of assistant, you must adjust your approach to meet the needs of students at different proficiency levels. Additionally, you should respect the school’s rules, maintain professionalism in all interactions, and uphold ethical teaching practices. By following this code, you as part of the school’s staff contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive bilingual learning environment.
