Las Herramientas de Autor son aplicaciones (libres o pagas) que facilitan la presentación de los contenidos propios mediante la combinación de textos, imágenes, video, sonido y en general cualquier elemento multimedia, todo ello integrado en un formato único.
Los Recursos 2.0 son herramientas basadas en la web que se operan directamente online utilizando cualquier navegador. 
Mayormente son gratuitas y muy intuitivas de usar.

Es tanto una herramienta de autor como un recurso 2.0
