- Microalgae are considered microscopic photosynthetic organisms, typically found in freshwater and marine systems
- Microalgae are utilizied as live feed for all growth stages for crustaceans, some fish species and zooplankton in aquaculture food chains

Blue-green algae
Spirulina is called blue-green algae because of presence of both green 
(chlorophyll) and blue (phycocyanin) pigments in its cellular structures
Spirulina is a blue-green algae like a spiral of long thin threads under genus Arthrospira
Spirulina is called blue-green algae, cynobacteria because of presence of both green and blue pigments in its cellular structures
Most of commercial spirulina production systems are based on the shallow raceways
....in which spirulina cultures are mixed by a paddle wheel.

To preserve the algae, we can use dewatering process using the rotary drum vacuum filters....

SUMMARY
As a natural resources feed, Spirulina play an important role in aquaculture. The use of Spirulina as complementary feed in various sectors of aquaculture resulting fast growth factors, enhancing the pigmentation and imunity system. It is considered as an excellent food, which lacking toxicity and having correctives properties againts the pathogenic microorganisms.
