Assessment must produce evidence that is 
Valid -
the evidence must allow learners to demonstrate the skills, knowledge and understanding being assessed

Sufficient – providing enough evidence for students to show achievement at Pass, Merit or Distinction

Authentic – allowing assessors to ensure the evidence presented is the learners own

Relevant – relating to the subject content and vocational context

Peer review
1. Case Studies
– What it is: A real-life (or realistic) business scenario.
– Purpose: Shows how learners apply theories (e.g., SWOT, PESTLE) in contexts they haven’t personally experienced. 
-  It  Include title, business background, challenges, analysis, and recommendations sections.
2. Written Reports
– What it is: Structured, self-directed research projects (e.g., market analysis).
– Purpose: Demonstrates planning, research, critical analysis, project management, deep learning. 
-  It includes Outline sections like Introduction, Method, Findings, Analysis, Recommendations.
3. Presentation Handouts
– What it is: Slides or printed materials supporting verbal delivery.
– Purpose: Displays communication skills and understanding of key messages/topics; used alongside recorded presentations.
– It includes example handout and note that it’s part of summative assessment.
4. Oral / Viva
– What it is: Live or recorded verbal Q&A/discussion with assessor.
– Purpose: Assesses verbal knowledge, subject understanding, ability to justify
   decisions—especially for Merit/Distinction.
- It includes Emphasise that a viva is formal, planned, and recorded for verification.

5. Podcast
– What it is: Recorded audio focused on a business topic (e.g., branding, marketing).
– Purpose: Demonstrates planning, scripting, communication, and media production skills.
– It Include examples like 2-minute podcasts produced by learners.
6. Peer Review
– What it is: Students assess each other’s work or contributions.
– Purpose: Supports reflective practice, evaluative skills, collaborative learning.
– It includes how peer feedback documents or forms can be part of evidence.

7. Annotated Photographs
– What it is: Images with labels and comments showing project progress or product use.
– Purpose: Visual proof of practical work, environment, events, or promotional activity. 
- It includes a photo with bullet calls-outs explaining key assessment points.
8. Practical Evidence
– What it is: Real-world tasks—e.g., mock negotiations, event planning, or product launches.
– Purpose: Assesses applied skills in realistic simulated business situations. Supported by observation records and logbooks. 
-It includes a checklist: “Learner planned → executed → assessed” with assessor record.
