All of these parts can be combined using addition, subtraction, division, multiplication.
ADDITION OF 
POLYNOMIALS

Example:

1. (3x2+ 5x - 2)
+
 (4x2 - 7x -3)

3x2+ 4x2 + 5x - 7x -2 -3
for each term with the same exponent we will add the coefficient of that term.
Identify all the like terms:

3x2+ 4x2 + 5x - 7x -2 -3

(3x2+ 5x - 2) +
 (4x2 - 7)

3x2+ 4x2 + 5x - 7x -2 -3

arrange it always to standard form

Standard form-writing a polynomial is to put the terms with the highest degree first.

(3x2+ 5x - 2) +
 (4x2 - 7)

=7x2 -2x -5

Now let’s try to solve this…  
(5x4 – 3x2 + 4) + 
(6x3 – 4x2 – 7)

=5x4+6x3-4x2-3x2+4-7

=5x4 + 6x3-7x2-3

SUBTRACTION OF
POLYNOMIALS

1. (–3x2 + 9xy – 5y2)
 – 
(4x2 + 7xy – 8y2)

(–3x2 + 9xy – 5y2) – (4x2 + 7xy – 8y2)
Identify all the like terms then combine it

Remember: 
Always arrange it in Standard form

(–3x2 + 9xy – 5y2) –
 (4x2 + 7xy – 8y2)

= -7x2+2xy+3y2

Let's try this!
 (5x3 – 7x2 – 8)
 – 
(4x2 + 5x – 6)

(5x3 – 7x2 – 8)
 – 
(4x2 + 5x – 6)

=5x3-7x2-4x2-5x-8+6

=5x3-11x2-5x-2
