A drug is any substance (with the exception of food and water) which, when taken into the body, alters the body’s function either physically and/or psychologically. Drugs may be legal or illegal.

What is drug addiction
Addiction is a chronic disease characterized by drug seeking and use that is compulsive, or difficult to control, despite harmful consequences.
. How a drug effects an individual is dependent on a variety of factors including body size, general health, the amount and strength of the drug, and whether any other drugs are in the system at the same time.
How drugs can affect our body
Most drugs affect the brain's reward circuit,causing euphoria as well as flooding it with the chemical messenger dopamine. 
Drug use in India
A recent government study suggests that more than 860,000 young men in the state, between the ages of 15-35, take some forms of drugs.
WHY DO PEOPLE TAKE DRUGS?
Here are some of the reasons young people have given for taking drugs: To fit in, To escape, or relax, To relieve boredom, To seem grown up, To rebel, To experiment.
How can we prevent drug addiction
Know your teen's activities. Pay attention to your teen's whereabouts.
Establish rules and consequences.
Know your teen's friends.
Keep track of prescription drugs
Many lives can be saved from just not using DRUGS
