This is part 6 set 1 in a series that will help Kindergarten, first, and struggling readers with phonemic awareness. Use this with the whole class and then again in small groups and/ or for individuals who are struggling. Incorporate additional activities in class such as questions that help your students think of the sound properties of words, finding syllables and phonemes in words, listening for where they hear certain sounds in words, or what the last, first, middle sound is in a particular word. Practice these skills with weekly spelling lists and unfamiliar vocabulary in text.
