QUOTATION is a group or words taken from a text or speech and repeated by someone other than the original author or speaker 
QUOTING  is the process when using someone else's words or text to support your ideas, provide evidence or add authority to your work.
TWO TYPES OF QUOTATION MARKS:
SINGLE QUOTATION MARKS (' ') DOUBLE QUOTATION MARKS (" ")

QUATOTION MARKS
(aka quotes or inverted commas)It is used to indicate direct speech and quotations.
SINGLE QUOTATION MARK
     It is used to replaced double quataion marks when thet are inside other double quotation marks.
DOUBLE QUOTATION MARKS
     It is used for direct quotes, dialogue, title of works, the emphasis of certain words, and separating nicknames from given names.

EXAMPLES:
Single quotation mark
     "The boy answered her father by saying, 'I don't want to swim alone.' He appeared to be shivering from the cold."
Double quotaion mark
     "I hope you will be fine," he said.

TYPES OF QUOTES:
In-text Quotes: It is a short quote that fits into and completes a sentence that was written.Indirect Quotes: It is use when you paraphrase ideas from a source.Direct Quotes: It is use when you take text directly from a source without changing anything.

REMEMBER:
You need to retain the exact wording, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation of the original source.You must cite your source when summarizing and paraphrasing.
