The explosion
The chernobyl accident was a nuclear explosion on april 26 in  1986 Vladimir Ilych Lenin nuclear power plant , located in nothern Ukraine.The problems since the previus day a test was being carried out thete required reducing the power,during wich there were a series of imbalances in a reactor 4 of this nuclear power plant, wich led to uncontrolled overheating of the nuclear reactor core and one or two successive explosion that followed by a widespead fire and eject large quentities of radioactive materials.
The consecuences
The city of Pripiat, which had 50,000 inhabitants before the accident, is now abandoned and in the so-called 30 km exclusion zone  A total of 105,000 square kilometers have a higher pollution, being permanently unusable for their agricultural activities. In Ukraine more than 8,000 people have died and 12,000 are seriously affected by radiation. The consequences of Chernobyl will last for several generations. In 1995, thyroid cancer was 285 times more frequent than before the catastrophe, and the diseases exceeded normal due to the weakening of the immune system caused by radiation. Children are the most affected, childhood thyroid cancer multiplied by one hundred, in addition to leukemia and tuberculosis.
Chernobyl  now
 Chernobyl today is  a place  abandoned, yet it is still full of relics of its tragic past. Pripyat, the town forged next to the nuclear plant, was meant to be a model nuclear city, a testament to Soviet strength and ingenuity. Now it's known only as the Chernobyl exclusion zone, forcibly devoid of humans and since retaken by animals and nature itself.
