The Abdominal Muscles "Abs"

The ones that keep you balanced!!
So where are the ab muscles on our body and what do they help us with?
The ab muscles are the muscles on our belly
So what do the ab muscles help you do? 
Your abs help  you
Breath in deeply - like when you calm yourself down
Hula hoop around your waist
Walk on a balance beam without falling over - like we did in the gym :)
And bounce on a bouncy ball without falling off.  This is why we use them! :)
Our abs also help us...
Touch our toes 
Swing a bat - because abs helps our body twist!
Reach and stretch to the left and to the right
Yoga is a great way to work on our ab muscles because we hold the poses for a long time!!
Do 
crunches 
or 
sit ups

Probably the most important job of the ab muscles is helping you have great posture (standing up straight)
Your abs help you sit up straight in class!
Having bad posture can really hurt your back
While having good posture can make your feel great!
Now that we know just how much our ab muscles help us out - let's return the favor and help them!  We help them by getting them stronger so they can do more for us!!
