Turning Jealousy Into Ambition 
Impacts through jealousy drive an individual to the max and sometimes even pushes them beyond. My name is Rey, a grade 12 student aspiring, to become something beyond average. Jealousy isn't always about wanting to be someone else,  it’s the motivation to see just how far I can push myself, just like the people I used to envy.

DREAM
As we look around, it's evident that there are individuals who are able to succeed and others are not, but why can’t I? Well,  I believe the only limits to a person's success are the limits we convince ourselves to exist. Jealousy is like a double edged sword, it will make us feel frustrated and bitter but when used right, will end up allowing us to surpass our limits that we set on ourselves.

Observing excellence demonstrates to us the understanding that breaking through limits is possible. When we limit ourselves, we choose failure in advance. With life in schools or even at home, obstacles will always occur which will lead to you creating limits on yourself, but viewing other individuals such as your parents or friend, ability to handle these obstacles, it'll lead to the strive to try and learn from them and truly give it your all. 
High Performance Institute

According to the High Performance Institute (2018),  Studies suggest, mindset drives up to 95% of an increase in success for goals, more than talent or resources. When first hearing about this study, it led me to reflect on what truly has been holding me back.  Routine, consistency, competition and effort, push us to evolve. This allows for no matter what obstacles you have in life, try and see how others may have overcome it.  
 The more I pushed myself, the clearer it became.  Trying to become someone else is nearly impossible. But why aim for someone else, when I can become the best version of me?" Seeing others achieve goals beyond their limits motivates and demonstrates that only things that are impossible are the things you limit yourself to believe. 
Pushing, pushing, pushing, endlessly to a goal that seems to have no results. How can others find so much success compared to me? It's the same goals, same life experiences but I struggle? That's not fair. Yet, this is probably how they felt too about other hard working individuals .

I stood tall on the first day of my powerlifting competition, just to get shot down in mere minutes, but what appeared to be “natural talent”. At the meet, others made lifting look easy—like they were born for it. I wasn’t. But if I didn’t have the gift, I’d just have to earn it with more effort than anyone else.
It was clear that others' success is just proof that what we, perceive as impossible, is possible. For you students, don’t create limits just because you believe it's unachievable, as the strongest version of yourself is the one who doesn’t believe in what he can’t do, but rather what he will try to do.

I encourage everyone around me to truly understand how jealousy, if used right, can be used as a tool that strives you rather than an issue of evil.

Looking back on my past now, since the start of what I considered my journey, to now. Jealousy could've been used as a weapon against me, for the first time holding onto the sword, it cut me, but then with each cut it allowed me to understand what edge drives me. The edge in which brought every individual I've envied to success.

Maybe turning comparison into growth is the fuel we need to evolve further.

Or maybe it's the start we need to rise beyond who we think we are.
