What was the League of Nations?
The League of Nations was an international organisation that aimed to maintain world peace and promote international cooperation after World War I.

When was the League of Nations set up?

The League of Nations was established on January 10, 1920 by the Paris Peace Conference.
Who created the League of Nations?

President Woodrow Wilson proposed the League of Nations as part of his Fourteen Points plan for peace in Europe.

the United States did not join the League of Nations because of opposition: The Senate voted down the Covenant of the League of Nations in 1920 by a narrow margin of 49–35, falling short of the required two-thirds majority.

Germany was not an original member of the League of Nations when it was established in 1920.

Germany joined in 1926 and remained a member until Adolf Hitler withdrew the country from the League in 1933.

Successes of the League of Nations?
The League of Nations has been commonly regarded in history as a dismal failure. Although it did suffer major failures during the 1920s and 1930s, (more later on this) its successes must not be overlooked and its drive to wipe out world disease was taken on by the United Nations and continues today.
