Easy answer. The minute your audience sees the opening slide, they realize you’re about to torture them with yet another boring presentation. It’s not your fault, people have just seen too many of them. Schools have forced today’s generation to watch them since grammar school. The result? They tune out.

The fact is that not many people know how to create interesting presentations. Most just string together a series of slides that contain bullet points. Maybe with a few interesting graphics. Nothing to get excited about.
