The global learning and development teams at Nestlé and Nespresso were using different types of software to try and create engaging learning materials. Unfortunately, no other platforms offered the variety of features needed to create professional, dynamic content. As part of their communication program, the Nestlé team needed to introduce a platform to the Customer Facing Global Teams at Nespresso that provides diverse visual choices, allows them to seamlessly maintain brand compliance, and is a place to collaborate with teammates, so creativity shines through.
Professional Videos Made Faster
The flexibility of Powtoon’s platform allows Nestle’s team to easily create quality learning videos fast using a variety of characters, graphics, music, and more. “The templates are really useful when I just need to get all the information down, and all the animation is already there,” said Charlie Moore, Training Specialist at Nespresso UK&ROI. Charlie has proven that not only is video faster to create, but also faster to consume. “Now I’m able to show a one-minute video rather than explaining a new process in a document.”
Streamlined Branding Across Materials
Typically, a branding team would have to review and revise all content to ensure learning content is consistent with other brand and marketing materials. The Nespresso team has been able to replace this long process with simple branding tools built into Powtoon’s platform. They love using color palettes, logo upload, and personalized font brand settings to easily transform templates and characters. “We are able to make our communications personable with our characters. It's quite clear to understand their role based on their uniform, logo, and colors that are tailored to the brand.”
Engagement Across the Board
Before using Powtoon, the L&D team was sharing PDF attachments on Facebook Workplace and MS teams for this particular project. Since they started replacing long, tiresome documents with Powtoons, the need for video has grown and has become an engagement tool across the organization. “This is how we’re able to get people's attention today – with short snappy videos. We've even had employees ask how they can start creating videos themselves.”
The teams at Nestlé and Nespresso have successfully been able to create professional, on-brand video content consistently that supports their training initiatives and meets their learners’ needs. "Powtoon has helped us achieve a fun way of communicating by enabling us to add motion, music, and visuals to what would have been a worded statement.” They have replaced factsheets and some of their meetings with a diverse set of video content for recruitment videos, onboarding videos, product walkthroughs, explainer videos, company announcements, celebration videos, and more in conjunction with Facebook Workplace, MS Teams, and Sharepoint. They were even able to use Powtoon Capture, a built-in screen recording tool, to create personalized tutorial videos.
