The company's Learning team was looking for a time-saving way to create short videos for visual communications and e-learning. The video creation solution had to be intuitive to learn quickly, and the videos produced needed to be engaging to hold employee attention on a typically busy day. None of the existing tools enabled the team to fulfill all of these requirements. “We explored various video platforms like Vyond and Adobe After Effects. Using Powtoon, the Learning team creates video content for various needs, including resources on annual performance reviews, manager-specific training, leadership growth programs, and platform launches. “The videos are fun, easily digestible, and visually appealing. We receive a lot of feedback from employees saying they prefer bite-sized videos compared to our previous hour-long sessions,” says Christian Ragasa, Senior Manger, Learning Design.
Cutting Costs Through Efficiencies
Powtoon content is embedded into learning materials, SharePoint pages, and email communications. The efficiency of the video creation process at the company is improving significantly thanks to the wide variety of Powtoon templates, the ability to easily customize content in line with branding guidelines, and the ease of downloading videos. These factors also help the company reduce costs.
Producing High Volumes of Content
Due to long learning curves and the time taken to create videos, the Learning team created virtually no videos in the past. With Powtoon’s straight-forward platform, the team now creates around five videos each month, based on the needs of the season. “Powtoon allows us to create videos with minimal design training and no reliance on unnecessarily complicated software,” says Christian Ragasa.
The Learning team has created around 50+ Powtoon videos so far to facilitate engaged learning. The content has been used to train more than 8,000 employees on the annual performance review cycle that is key to employee learning, compensation, and growth. In addition, Powtoon videos have also been used to train managers and leaders at the company – a critical aspect of talent development and succession planning. “We got some awesome feedback from our Talent Development team on the videos we created. Powtoon has been one of our go-to tools for creating short animated videos that we use to educate our colleagues.
