Michael Faraday
This is michael faraday 
He was born in 1791 in London and lived to the age of 76, passing away in 1867.
Faraday didn't have much schooling and taught himself through reading science books and doing science experiments.
Michael Faraday was the third child of James and Margaret Faraday and grew up in a home of poverty.
EARLY YEARS
Faraday left school before he finished year 4
He became an assistant to the Chemist Humphrey Davey in 1813 which also led to him becoming the 'Chemical Experimental Assitant for the Royal Institution 
He invented the electric motor in 1821
The Electric Motor
Michael Faraday realised that there was a connection between magnetism and electricity and used the two to create movement. This is how he invented the electric motor.
WHAT IS IT ?
The electric motor is one of the most important applications of electromagnetism. 
An electric motor converts electrical energy into physical movement.
Electric motors use magnetic fields and electric currents to create movement and cause the spinning of the electric motor.

Why is it important?
Electric motors are in almost every aspect of living. Michael Faraday's invention allows people today to use electrical energy efficiently. There are over700 billion motors all around the world which has a major impact due to the power that they use.
