Why did I choose nursing...
patient centered impactful real life superhero "mom friend"  healing!!
I chose nursing because I love how patient centered the profession is. Nurses can have the greatest impact on someones time in the hospital. They do truly admirable work and ask for very little recognition. Growing up I've always been described as caring or the ‘mom friend’. I love caring for people, it brings an incomparable feeling to my chest.

Every individual helps create the environment we live, work, and play in.  
The environment a patient comes from can have an impact on how to treat said patient
nursing
Nursing can be difficult to define as there are so many different types and the image of nursing has changed overtime. My definition of nursing is the nurturing approach of healthcare to prevent disease, treat illness, and facilitate an overall caring environment for patients from all backgrounds  
Nursing exists because they advocate for promotion of health, prevention of disease, and treatment of injuries. The nursing profession is interpersonal. 
Some core activities or responsibilities of nurses include: administration of medicine, preparing patients for exams, monitoring patients, creating and implementing patient care plans with other medical team members. 
My assumption of nursing as of right now is that I will be overworked and underappreciated. I don't think nurses always get the respect they deserve from patients, family of patients, other healthcare providers and the community.

The main recipients of nursing care are the patients, those seeking medical attention. The family of patients is also a recipient of nursing care, if they need a helping hand, someone to trust or communicate plans with. The entire community benefits from nursing care. 
Nursing cares for the whole person, body and mind.

I define health as your body's regulation to keep you alive and well. That includes physical and mental  
Having a purpose in life can create a psychological well-being. It can make people more inclined to take care of themselves and their health
I believe health is a right, everyone no matter your story deserves to have good health.
