WHAT IS AFFIRMATIVE ACTION 
"...ANY MEASURE, BEYOND SIMPLE TERMINATION OF DISCRIMINATORY PRACTICE, ADOPTED TO CORRECT AND COMPENSATE FOR PAST OR PRESENT DISCRIMINATION OR TO PREVENT IT FROM RECURRING IN THE FUTURE" (Sax and Arredondo 439). 
affirmative action within the workplace and college admissions discriminates against the majority and gives the minority the priority just to fill a racial quota, even though they are equal in all of the required qualifications
WHY IS IT AN ISSUE? 
This means that, "If Billy marks African American on his application and only has a 3.0 GPA he may get accepted to the college over John who marks White and has a 4.0" (Stephans 2). 
Basically... 
It requires a lot of time and money 
affirmative action should be removed from the workplace and college admissions
Top 3 Reasons 
Makes affirmative action hires feel less deserving of the position 
It reinforces stereotypes and racism 
"... the cost of affirmative action to private-sector employers was billions of dollars in lost productivity, without actually analyzing costs and benefits, thus again ignoring the interests of the very private-sector employers..." (Williams 69). 
it requires a lot of time and money... 
MAKES AFFIRMATIVE ACTION HIRES FEEL LESS DESERVING OF THEIR POSITION 
As author Bret Stephans stated, “Of all the names I've been called in life, including the usual anti-Semitic slurs, none has more sting than affirmative action hire” (1). 
IT REINFORCES STEREOTYPES AND RACISM
“Asian Americans… must score on average 140 points more than their equivalent white counterparts, while Hispanic and black students are given leeway with 130-point and 310-point bonuses respectively”(Simpson 1).
WHAT YOU'RE THINKING 
I KNOW 
WITHOUT AFFIRMATIVE ACTION WHAT WILL THERE BE TO HELP PROPEL THE LESS FORTUNATE? 
THE TRUTH IS... 
THERE ARE COUNTLESS AMOUNTS OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS. 
FOR EMPLOYMENT
FOR COLLEGE 
THERE ARE SEVERAL DIFFERENT FREE PROGRAMS THAT HELP WITH JOB RESUMES AND EMPLOYMENT FOR LOW INCOME PEOPLE. 
The issue with Affirmative action is that we are still focusing on race...
As the

"...you should not be judged by the color of your skin..." (Simpson 2).
Instead... 
 We need to forget about the color of everyone's skin and look deeper into the personality and qualifications of the applicants.
