Homeostasis
The process of maintaining a stable physical and chemical environment of the human body. 
Most frequently occurring: 
- Temperature regulation 
-Blood sugar regulation 
- Water balance 
- pH regulation

In the body homeostasis can be shown through :
What happens if Homeostasis doesn't occur 
Even little fluctuations in levels in the human body can lead to immediate effects on the body and overall if homeostasis doesn't occur it will lead to death.

Negative feedback loop: 
Reduces the intensity
 of the initial stimulus

Most common type
Positive feedback loops 
Occurs less frequently in the body 
The inital stimulus is increased to produce a greater response 
Results go in the same direction as the stimulus 
Examples of positive feedback loops: 
As the bladder fills, mechanoreceptors are stimulated, leading to the contraction of smooth muscle of the bladder. As the bladder becomes progressively distended, the contractions increase and the feeling becomes more urgent

During labor the pressure from the baby's head on the cervix triggers the release of oxytocin(hormone) that stimulates uterine contractions. As increase in release of oxytocin there will be an increase in the severity of the contractions this continues until the baby is born.

[Blood clotting]
When blood vessels become damaged chemicals are released activating platlets, causes additional platelets to the sight. Once this becomes large enough it will form a blood clot.
